Shelton Matsey has been working in the fitness industry since 1998. Shelton worked for a couple of local clubs in Champaign and Chicago, until he graduated from the University of Illinois.
After graduation, he then moved on to serve as an Air Defense Officer in the US Army on Active Duty for 6 years. He applied his knowledge of the body to get the most physically out of his Soldiers, resulting in them getting into tip top shape. Often his Soldiers had the highest Physical training scores in his units. After the Army Shelton moved on to a corporate job where he figured he could use his MBA which he acquired while in the Army. He soon figured out that his true passion was not in a corporate job but in coaching individuals from all walks of life as they strive to attain their fitness goals.
Throughout the years, Shelton helped hundreds of clients get in the best shape of their lives through the utilization of the latest and best fitness and nutrition techniques. Through the years he has worked with a wide range of clients from weight loss, sports training, diabetics, heart conditions, back problems and a variety of other conditions. His specialization though is in fat loss and functional training.
Shelton has a Masters in Business Administration from Webster University, and Bachelors in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Shelton is also a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the American Council on Exercise.
Erin Dubich is a licensed registered dietitian and fat-loss nutrition expert. She has a masters degree in nutrition communications from the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, and bachelors degrees in neuroscience and psychology. Erin’s nutrition-and food-related experience includes nutrition counseling, writing, research, public speaking, cooking demonstrations, label reading, grocery store tours and more.
Erin’s philosophy on eating is based on Hippocrates’ “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” She integrates her core nutrition values with behavioral and mindset strategies to help clients achieve their desired results. She specializes in goal setting, overcoming barriers, behavior change, meal planning and budgeting, and recipe modification. Erin believes results come from persistence, positive attitude and a willingness to do the work no matter what. Her proudest fitness accomplishments include four marathons and the first set of 3 x 15 pull-ups she ever completed.
